Apply for Living Wage Recognition in Virginia
Living Wage Virginia Program 2025
The purpose of the Living Wage Virginia Program is to recognize employers that are committed to paying living wages, above current the state and federal minimum wage standards, and that increase periodically to account for increases in cost of living. The following tier system is intended for recognition purposes only. To receive full benefits, employers must apply for dual certification through Living Wage of Us.
Living Wage Virginia Program Tier System
- Aspiring – $15 per hour
- Silver – Equivalent of Tier 1 with Living Wage for Us (varies, see wage map)
- Gold – Equivalent of Tier 2 with Living Wage for Us (varies, see wage map)
Additional Benefits to be Recognized Include:
- Paid sick days
- Paid time off (vacation, holidays, etc.)
- Parental leave
- Health insurance
- Disability insurance
- Housing assistance
- Scholarships or continuing education support
- Second chance employer
- Retirement benefits
- Collective bargaining agreements (union contracts)
